Jamaica has a huge diaspora – there are as least as many Jamaicans living off the island as living on – and with a culture that’s so big on entertainment and confidence, it’s no surprise that many international celebrities are of Jamaican descent. There are a few in particular that love the island, visit regularly, and don’t hesitate to share their passion and pride for their homeland with their fans.
Winnie Harlow is a Canadian model who has shot to superstardom since her appearance on America’s Next Top Model. She is clearly very proud of her Jamaican heritage and has even started her own sunscreen line, Cay Skin, that she has said is inspired by Jamaican remedies.
Similarly, Ayesha Curry is the Canadian-born wife of NBA superstar Stephen Curry. She’s very proud and vocal about her mother being from Jamaica, and also created her own product line, Sweet July, that uses Jamaican ingredients and celebrates that Jamaican heritage.
AJ Dybantsa was selected first overall in the 2026 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards, and seems destined to be a future NBA great. He always takes the time to acknowledge his Jamaican heritage on his mother’s side, and more importantly, is actively giving back to the island through sports-focussed initiatives.
For those who didn’t know him before the 2026 World Cup, we all sure knew him after. Jude Bellingham was a star on the pitch for England, is known as being one of the nicest guys in sports, and is also the subject of MANY a crush! His mother is of Jamaican background and he seems to have fully embraced this part of his culture, posting frequent pictures of trips to the island.
Lennox Lewis is probably one of the most famous and successful boxers ever. He holds both British and Canadian citizenship but his parents’ Jamaican heritage seems just as important to him. He spends quite a bit of time in Jamaica (we’ve seen him there more than once!), and even owns a property at Tryall, which we mentioned in our post on our dream Jamaican villas.
Actress Jodie Turner-Smith is known for both her acting chops and modelesque physique, but one thing she wants you to know is that she’s the very proud child of Jamaican parents. She’s said that Portland is her favourite parish, but she seems to love anything and everything about Jamaica. We’re right there with her.
